OCT 1 - Thoughts Have Power
“Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.”
Philippians 4:4-9
Have you ever felt yourself in a season of worrying? Usually in this season we are full of negativity, doubt, sadness. The reason we stay there sometimes longer than we want is because we let it be what consumes our minds, hearts and words every single day. And although it’s completely normal to be insecure and in worry, we need to regroup our mindset because This is opposite of how God intends us to live. He intends us to give him every burden and to live in PEACE, a peace that surpasses every understanding. (v.7) In order to do that we need to fix our thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. (v8)
I guarantee you the things you worry about aren’t true, honorable & pure and Certainly not worthy of Praise. His peace is a gift to us, it has no contingencies. But to receive it and live in it, we must close the door to things and voices that get us out of that peace. Places and people that don’t speak life, get our minds rolling with negativity and uncomfort. But the word of God, his presence renew our minds or peace, of Faith. That’s what we need to saturate ourselves with!
What thought have you allowed to infiltrate in your mind, to rob your thoughts of peace?
What doors or things do you have to close in your life to stay connected to the thoughts of peace?
The more we surround ourself with Faith, talks of faith & testimonies of faith will our faith grow and our mind and heart have peace. In a world like today let’s close the door to uncertainty and stress. Don’t be robbed of the gift God gives you of peace. Let’s let peace drive our thoughts and let that peace be contagious onto others who need of it.
