SEP 4 - "Vengeance in Mine" says the Lord

30 For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Hebrews 10:30-31 NKJV

The just live by faith. It isn’t reasonable to carry on with grudges from the past. One of the hardest lessons you can learn as a Christian is to let go and forgive even if you’ve been wronged and you feel justified.

Why do we forgive? Why not give it over to God or “karma". Because God has forgiven us over and over for breaking his laws, disobeying his mandates, he forgives on a daily basis.

22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
23 they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.

Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV

Every morning we receive new grace. God is faithful, God is good and because we were forgiven. We forgive. Forgiveness leads us to healing, it leads us to being more Christ-like, which is the goal.

Only God can ultimately bring judgment, and remember, because they wronged you doesn’t mean they’re getting away. They’re getting theirs from the Lord and that is a scary thing.

31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

  1. Are you holding onto grudges?

  2. What’s keeping you from letting go?

  3. How comfortable are you giving up grudges to God and are you truly believing his word?
