The Fight God Handles For You / #HFW
15 He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. 16 Tomorrow march down against them. They will be climbing up by the Pass of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the gorge in the Desert of Jeruel. 17 You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’”
2 Chronicles 20:15-17
Leaders: This is an amazing chapter of the Bible, that you should read at some point.
Some battles you fight, and some God will battle for you. In this chapter we meet King Jehoshaphat, which we’ll call King J. King J is surrounded by a lot of enemies, so many that others are overwhelmed and so is he.
But what does King J do? He calls on God for help. He says:
12 Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”
2 Chronicles 20:12
In a fight you’re trained to look at your enemy, read his body language, study his movements. In a spiritual fight, we need to train ourselves to keep our eyes on God.
The spirit of God arrives and tells him, “Don’t be afraid, don’t worry, face them and the Lord will be with you.”
That’s our prayer for your groups this week, face your challenges but keep your eyes on God. No matter what you need, no matter what you lack. God can provide it.
Is there a fight you need God to give to God?
How often are you keeping your eyes on God?
