How Can I Stay Pure? - Oct. 18-22
How can a young person stay on the path of purity?
By living according to your word.
Psalm 119:9 NIV
David knew it was a struggle to stay pure, he was flesh and bone like you and me. In his journals, here in the Psalms he writes about wanting to stay pure, pursuing God above everything. Listen to his declarations after wanting to be pure.
10 I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your commands.
11 I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.Psalm 119:10-11
He’s right on point, we have to live according to God’s word. We have to hide verses in our heart, seek God with all of our heart. Only then can we have a chance at staying pure.
Will we be pure forever? Impossible, but knowing God’s word will help restore us faster. It’ll get us on our feet quicker, no dealing with guilt that Jesus died on the cross for.
If you don’t feel pure in this moment, if you’ve fallen or stumbled lately. Don’t allow the enemy to fool you, guilt is an endless road. God’s word says you will fall and stumble, but God saves us from it in the end.
For You have delivered my soul from death,
Indeed my feet from stumbling,
So that I may walk before God
In the light of the living.
Psalm 56:13
If he has restored you before, he can do it again.
