Better to Give than to Receive - Oct. 11-15

35 In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Acts 20:35 NIV

It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Acts 20:35 KJV

I think Christmas has basically hijacked this verse.

But this is a concept, we really, really need to understand, live with and practice.

It isn’t just better to give, just getting better is relative. My version of getting better is different than yours.

However, the original text would say it is more blessed to give than to receive. That changes the meaning, that changes the context.

I’m not just better, I’m blessed.

Walking in blessing is supernatural, being blessed is much bigger and than just getting better.

How do I become more blessed? By giving.

Giving what? A gift? Gift-wrapped neatly? Sure but not just that. Giving when you don’t want to, giving of your strength, giving your morning, giving your time.

GIVING.

Everything that you give, places you in a better position of blessing.

What are you giving lately?

How can you give more? And if you’re giving, are you believing for a blessing?
