JULY 1 - God Will Bless His People

JOEL 3:16-17

16 The Lord roars from Mount Zion;

his voice thunders from Jerusalem;

earth and sky tremble.

But he will defend his people.

17 “Then, Israel, you will know that I am the Lord your God.

I live on Zion, my sacred hill.

Jerusalem will be a sacred city;

foreigners will never conquer it again.

The Lord is our Refuge

In a world filled with uncertainty and chaos, we often long for a place of safety and peace. The Scripture assures us that the Lord is our refuge, a shelter in the storms of life. Just as a refuge provides protection and solace, God invites us to find rest and comfort in Him. In His presence, we can find refuge from the trials and tribulations that we all face. No matter what challenges are ahead, we can find peace in knowing that the Lord is our unwavering sanctuary.

The Lord is our Stronghold

A stronghold is a place of strength and security, a fortress that safeguards us from the enemy's attacks. In times of spiritual battles, the Lord stands as our mighty fortress, shielding us from the forces that seek to harm us. His strength is made perfect in our weakness, and we can take refuge in His power and authority. With the Lord as our stronghold, we can face life's challenges with confidence and courage.

Embracing our Identity as His People

The verse reminds us that the Lord is the refuge and stronghold "for His people." As followers of Christ, we are called to embrace our identity as God's chosen ones. We are His beloved children, and He delights in providing us with refuge and protection. This truth also calls us to live as a community that reflects His love and care. As we experience God's refuge and stronghold individually, we are called to extend the same love, compassion, and support to others. We become instruments of His refuge and stronghold to those around us.

PRAYER

God, we thank you for being our refuge and stronghold. Help us to find rest in your loving presence and to trust in your unwavering protection. Teach us to extend your refuge and stronghold to those around us, demonstrating your love and care. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
