AUG 4 - Find Jesus

This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again.

John 3:16-17 MSG

God came to love us, not judge us or condemn us!

Is it God’s fault that we commit sins and punish ourselves to suffer in eternity? No!

Is it the Police’s fault that people commit crimes and end up in trouble with the law? No!

We all know the rules, and the consequences to our mistakes. But Jesus came to this earth to experience everything we were going to experience and eventually to save us from it. God didn’t come to punish us, he came to help us not get punished.

The church doesn’t help sometimes, because we meet people with requirements, with dress codes, with judgment. When Jesus didn’t do that, he didn’t ask people to cover their tattoos, or wear button downs to church. He meets us with love.

He reminds us that we’re not our mistakes and provides an alternative.

“No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?”

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

John 14:5-6 NLT

Only Jesus is the way to the father. Find Jesus, find hope, find salvation, find freedom.

  1. Have you been met with criticism before at the church?

  2. Do you understand that people fail but Jesus does not?

  3. How can we understand God’s plan for our lives if we don’t follow the way Jesus prepared for us?
