Pick Up The Phone! (Talking to God)
INTRO
In the Bible we hear about and interesting story when God calls Noah to build an arc because he is about end all mankind ( Genesis 6 13:22 ) . In this illustration it explains how important it is to answer to Gods calling because for all we know , we could be the answer to our generation but are we willing to answer the call ?
1. Is your phone connected?
Romans 10:17 - So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ
⁃ are you instructing yourself with the word of God to initiate the relationship with him?
⁃ Do you maintain a relationship with God that allows you to hear his voice?
2 Chronicles 7:14 : If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
2. Are you answering the call ?
Mark 16:15
⁃ have you accepted the calling for your life ?
⁃ Matthew 22:14
⁃ In the Bible it explains many are called but few are chosen , if you feel you have been called what is stopping you from choosing what God has for you
3. Is it an only emergency hotline?
⁃ do you only seek God through danger ?
⁃ when facing adversity we seem to always seek God and expect a quick response or solution , when God calls on you do you answer him just as fast ?
James 1: 2-4 - Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
⁃ We must learn not to only seek God in the bad but also in the Good times . Call on God at all times
CONCLUSION
It is never too late or too early to start a relationship with God and answer his calling for your life .
Psalms 145:18-19 - The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them.
