AUG 5 - I Am Available
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16
“As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”
1 Peter 4:10
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.”
Isaiah 6:8
Availability- making yourself accessible for utilization
When we give Him our availability, God will provide us the capability.
There will be moments in our life where we have to be uncomfortable and allow God to use us the way He knows He can. If we don’t decide today to make ourselves available, that can affect your destination tomorrow because our faithfulness today determines our fruitfulness
We have to be able to say “God, I don’t know what you want from me, but I trust you wholeheartedly”
Going to church or even declaring that you’re a Christian isn’t being available.
Digging into the word and constantly praying and meditating on His word is what will allow you to hear God’s voice and reveal His plans for your life. How can we say we’re a true Christian if we’re not constantly filling ourselves with His Word? ARE WE TRULY BELIEVING OR ARE WE FAKING THE CHRISTIAN LIFE?
God is not going to force us to do anything He’s always patiently waiting for us to come to Him and surrender our all so he can finally use us. We have to remember that God is a gentleman.
Sometimes not knowing or being blindsided might seem scary but it’s okay to be afraid for a moment but it’s never okay to stay in that fear. We just have to remember that the Lord has the ability to give you peace and comfort.
“For God hath not given us a spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
2 Timothy 1:7
When you take that first step God will lead you the rest of the way.
“By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.”
Hebrews 11:8
He Was Called
Just like Abraham, WE are also called.
God designed us for a specific purpose and gave each of us a gift.
Whether that gift is business, ministering unto others, singing, dancing, etc. you fill in the blank. God gave every single one of us a gift to be able to use here in order to grow His kingdom. 1 Peter 4:10 When we deny the gift God gave us, we deny His ability to be able to use us.
2. He Obeyed
Abraham didn’t know where to go. God didn’t tell him or give him a map or turn on the GPS but despite that he trusted God and had faith in Him
Our christian walk is all about obedience because it’s by faith that we should be living not by sight.
Faith is obedience
Do we love and honor the Lord enough to obey Him and trust that His plans are better than our plans?
He Received An Inheritance
Because he obeyed and had faith, God blessed him. He gave him the land he was going to as an inheritance
We shouldn’t obey just for the blessings that come afterwards but it’s refreshing to know that we have a good and Just Father who loves us enough to bless us.
Nevertheless, we should walk by faith and obedience because we truly love Him and mean it
Our walk with God is not like our day-to-day job where we can tell our boss our availability or when we can’t come in. Our availability should be everyday. If you’re afraid of being available because of our past or we feel unworthy, remember that He doesn’t care about the baggage you’re bringing because He’s willing to fix all of it, if we trust Him and simply obey.
In the end it’s your choice and on judgment day, He will confront you and ask you why didn’t you. Remember that we deny our faith and availability towards God when we deny what God wants us to do
Prayer:
God, we thank you for being a good father. Help us Lord to trust and obey you more. We believe your plans are better than our plans so help us everyday to walk by faith and not by sight. Teach us your ways and continue building and strengthening us for everything you have called us to do and be. We love you. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
