JULY 1 - Truth

14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing, 15 that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, 16 holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.

Philippians 2:14-16 ESV

Provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God. Carry the light-giving Message into the night so I’ll have good cause to be proud of you on the day that Christ returns. You’ll be living proof that I didn’t go to all this work for nothing.

So much of what we do is to help others. But we don’t also help others by what we do, we can help them even more with how we live.

The world is dying for something or someone to be authentic, and genuine but what they’re really searching for is truth.

• How true is Jesus to you?

• How true are the words of your testimony?

• Can you truly be found as blameless and innocent, a child of God without blemish in the middle of a twisted generation? Verse 14.

Ask yourself these questions, think of the example you are setting.

We will fail, yes. We will stumble, of course. But ultimately we have to remember that we are not doing this alone. The Holy Spirit can help us, and even if we feel low at the moment. That is not our ending.

How can we help ourselves?

16 holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.

Holding onto the word of God. Studying it, learning it. Reminding ourselves that we need God’s help on a daily basis. The world is searching for Truth, the best place for them to find it is with a Christian who knows the word of God.
