SEP 2 - Light VS Dark

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.””

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:8-14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The spiritual battle sounds like a movie when it refers to light vs dark. But many of us have been set free from many traps of the enemy which affect us all.

Anxiety, depression, stress, none of them come from our father in heaven. And yet they can be so real to us on a daily basis.

The bible refers to our past self as our dead self. Because we didn't know Jesus and it's only though him that we can have eternal life.

Think about all the things God has saved you from, think about your life before the Holy Spirit. You'll probably find that your old friends aren't around anymore, past relationships are almost forgotten, it doesn't matter how deep in sin you might be, God still has a plan for you.

It reminds us not to make fellowship with the darkness, how can we say we choose Christ and still deal with a drug addiction? How can we choose Jesus and still spend time with bad influences? We're flirting with darkness.

God wants to help us from that. His way is greater, his plans are better and the life he has for you will change you forever.

  1. What are some ways we're still holding onto darkness even in the church?

  2. How can we be set free from our sin?

  3. How honest has our decision for Christ been in the last few years?
