MAR - Death = Life

25 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

Matthew 16:25

You want to live? You have to die.

Jesus didn’t mean this literally, he meant it spiritually. It’s an interesting concept, but if you attempt to save your life for yourself. That’s all you get, at the end of your life, you’ll die and you lose the life you wanted to save.

But, if you lose your life, or rather, give it up for Jesus’ name, you’ll find it in him again. In eternity, instead of dying and perishing, you’ll live once again in the heavens. Make sense? I hope so, it can be summed up with this saying:

Be born once, die twice.

Be born twice, die once.

All of this to say, Jesus is still and will always be the way, the truth and the life to God. It doesn’t matter what we face, it doesn’t matter how big or mighty our enemies seem. The Bible says:

8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed;

perplexed, but not in despair;

9 persecuted, but not abandoned;

struck down, but not destroyed.

10 We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.

2 Corinthians 4:8-10

He makes himself real to us because of his death, it saved us from sin, it carries us into a new promise. It’s the gift we don’t deserve and yet the one he died to give us.

Are you ready to be born again? Are you ready to accept Jesus into your heart?
