Oct 4 - God's Love Has No Limits
“that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”
Ephesians 3:18-19 NKJV
It should take us a long time to learn how good God is, and even more time to learn how profound his love is.
How can you know what loving a pet is like if you've never had one?
How can you know what loving a child is like if you've never had one?
How can you know what loving God is like if you've never been rooted in his love?
Paul is writing to a city that for years has only understood that you get what you earn. You work hard, and at the of the week hopefully you get paid.
What if you didn't? What if you didn’t have to do anything but you received a love so strong that it took over your life? That's God's love.
Our parents made us think good grades and good behavior always meant good rewards.
But God's love, loves us when we're in our darkest places. Never leaves us even when we push him away for years. That's his love.
Paul says “knowing the love of God passes knowledge.” Because it's so great we'll struggle to understand it.
Maybe you're in a good season right now, maybe you don't need God's love right now. But maybe you're not, maybe you need all you can get. It's here and available, man makes exceptions, God doesn't.
Explain God's love.
How can we understand it more?
Will our experiences in life help us to learn more about his love?
Is there anything we can do to get more of God's love?
